Parkchester Parents: Teens and Sex
Just this Memorial Day weekend I came across an item in a community paper about teens and sex. The headline says become a “Parent in the know.” Further down: details about an upcoming “safer sex awareness party for youths ages 15-24.” The party will feature contests, plenty of food and a live DJ. “Confidential HIV rapid testing” would be provided, too.
This got me thinking about how it seems as though the age at which kids start having sex dips with virtually each passing year. Sorry, I didn’t dig up actual statistics but I think most might find some measure of validity with this reasoning.
So I say, hey, concerned parents (of young adults) living in Parkchester, doesn’t this initiative to educate kids about sex through some kind of neighborly festive affair sounds worthwhile. Of course we’d do it in Parkchester’s style. If anybody has thoughts on this idea, feel free to post them in the comments section here.
In fact, you could post about virtually anything relevant to the Parkchester, Bronx, New York community on the The Parkchester information Network forums.

Zagat Cites Parkchester’s Willie’s Steak House
Want to find out where the best restaurants are in the Bronx, specifically Parkchester? Try Zagat's guide. In their “29th year” of reporting I think it’s safe to say Zagat’s “ratings and reviews” are definitely worth viewing. Their slogan reads “The Ultimate Restaurant Guide. From the Diner’s Point of View.” And - who better - give the most honest reviews than diners themselves?
The current edition – “Zagat: New York City Restaurants 2008” – cites Willie’s Steak House. And it seems the place offers more than just fine food. Latin Jazz, anybody??? Check out Maquina Amarilla live performance at the spot.
For more details click here: WILLIE'S STEAK HOUSE .
1832 Westchester Avenue
Bronx, New York, 10472
Telephone: 718-822-9697
Fax: 718-822-7959

If interested in knowing Zagat’s other fine dining “Choices” located throughout the Bronx just take a look here.

Parkchester's Parents ... Online Video Games for Kids
Parents, kids love video games. Xbox. Play Station. Game Cube. Etc.
Also catching kids interests more and more are video games accessible through the internet. Also referred to as online video games.
(Parents, please be sure to monitor your child’s activities on the internet.)
So placing a link leading to the QSSgames website on the InsideParkchester Blog seems most appropriate as many parents of young children live in Parkchester. Kids will get a kick out the site’s offering. Adults should, too – whether you’re a parent who genuinely enjoy video games or would indulge in them just to spend some fun/quality time with your children.
Qssgames offers classics such as “Donkey Kong” and “PacMan.” Also spotted one game called “Beer Golf.” Bet adults will enjoy that one. Take a look. By the way, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the number of games this site offers.
