Just this Memorial Day weekend I came across an item in a community paper about teens and sex. The headline says become a
“Parent in the know.
” Further down
: details about an upcoming
“safer sex awareness party for youths ages 15-24.
” The party will feature contests, plenty of food and a live DJ.
“Confidential HIV rapid testing
” would be provided, too.
This got me thinking about how it seems as though the age at which kids start having sex dips with virtually each passing year. Sorry, I didn’t dig up actual statistics but I think most might find some measure of validity with this reasoning.
So I say, hey, concerned parents (of young adults) living in Parkchester, doesn’t this initiative to educate kids about sex through some kind of neighborly festive affair sounds worthwhile. Of course we’d do it in Parkchester’s style. If anybody has thoughts on this idea, feel free to post them in the comments section here.
